With close to 5 experience working on Self Sovereign Identity-based farmer profiles within www.farmerconnect.com, it is clear that the most efficient and just model is to be farmer centric.
Everyone wants it, they all say they will use it, but finding companies to pay for public infrastructure that their competitors can freely leverage was the challenge
Enter the non-for-profit ‘Bridge’. Lets make it public!
Our aim is to build on the last 5 years of effort on the FarmerID product but drive it as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and as a Public Good.
This approach can reduce the significant duplication of effort that exists in our supply chains and even work within a landscape context across commodities and even provide benefit to other rural actors like input, finance, health and education providers.
With open collaboration we can make a huge and lasting impact, and by putting the farmer or worker in the center of the model, we also make it fair and just!
